I run a new project - use micro quad copters to shoot aereal videos. Small size is convenient for many reasons: they are cheap, they are not dangerous for people, can be used indores, no need for authorization for using in public place.
At this point I enjoy 2 versions of Linux: crunchbang (minimalistic) & AV Linux (maximalistic). Crunchbang is minimalistic among universal systems that have video codecs, web browser etc.(There are even smaller & liter version like puppy or DSL, but seem not so comfortable to me). AV Linux is my design, video editing box that also good to attract students scared by command line. Here I put some useful notes for easy reference:
this I put to /etc/default/keyboard to have multiple keyboard layouts: XKBMODEL="pc105" XKBLAYOUT="us,ru" XKBVARIANT="," XKBOPTIONS="grp:switch,grp:alt_shift_toggle" or XKBOPTIONS="grp:caps_toggle,terminate:ctrl_alt_bksp,grp_led:scroll" then restart hal: /etc/init.d/hal restart this command I type when need to switch to languages without restart setxkbmap -option grp:switch,grp:shifts_toggle,grp_led:scroll us_intl,us,gb,de,fr,es,ru &
to run network connection configuration I type: sudo nm-connection-editor & to configure user login: sudo gdmsetup
One of my favorite genres is wedding photography. When people look the best & visit most beautiful places in nice company? On weddings! But is as much challenging as sports or animal photography in dynamics, & even more: if you screw up with animals they will forgive you, but if you come home & find that you screwed up on your wedding... You will not forgive yourself. Life is life, sometimes things go wrong, the sun is too shining, people who have no idea about photography command you to shoot in this particular place, which is in fact not good for shooting at all but one insists to show that he's very smart. Some clown with point-n-shoot camera starts to spoil your work behaving like he's making most important & most beautiful shots that others must go home... Bride starts to cry that groom forgot flowers, or he forgot to take musicians that supposed to play when she leaves home. In such situations photographer must have sense of humor & be smart to fix the situation or that day will be a nightmare tiring everyone. Thats what I mus work about as now I'm far from that, too much concentrated on aperture, shutter speed, distance to subject, color balance etc.
I normally shoot 300 - 15000 photos on one wedding. Obviously some of them don't make me proud but I don't delete photos as for them they might mean something, even if they make me ashamed. I normally hide failed photos in some folder to make sure that they will not see them first when watch photos on the disk. It's always more then enough nice shots for their album & slide show video montages that I make.
"Hello. My name is Mr (Mrs whatever), I have business proposal for you..." Or "Hello my dearest one! I have good feeling about you after checking your profile...". Who can buy this kind of shit? "this message will be surprise for you" When I received that for a first time I was surprised. "Please contact me to my personal email: email@example.com" Of coarse it's important to contact by personal email in such official place like SNS! Haha This is my favorite part: "I am writing to request your assistance to transfer the sum of $15, 000.000.00 [Fifteen million, United States dollars) into your accounts. The above sum belongs to our deceased customer late Mr. John korovo who died along with his entire family in the Benin plane crash 2005 and since then the fund has been in a suspense account." Of coarse this is impossible to complete without my assistance -). People what are you doing other then scamming with this kind of bullshit? Even not very clever people would understand that if u scam whole planet that wouldn't work. But they don't understand that, as I receive more & more bullshit of that kind everyday.
My IR (infrarouge) camera sees the world just like dogs do (eyes of dogs see infrared light). I made it for myself by removing IR filter from the cencor. I wouldn't risk to do that with my DSLR so that was pointNshout camera. Such kind of camera doesn't give you room for experimenting & setting up manual exposure but it better then nothing when it comes to take InfraRed photos.
Let me show you the place I live in, it's crimean peninsula in the east of Ukraine. I think nature here is similar to France, though people are not so nice and friendly though. Khan Palace in Bahchisaray, Crimea Medieval monastry
